“Poor Ludwig” - A Poem

image

Poor Ludwig

——————————-

Poor, poor Ludwig

That his strings should twist and falter

The many keys once glorious

Shimmering in ivory and obsidian

But turned to dust

Beneath his fingers bearing down

And the waves of sound broke

Harsh and blunted

On a solemn desolation

With nothing but time

Now nothing but remembrance

To gently pale the epiphany

Until the last flicker

Passed into insignificance

Oh poor, poor Ludwig

Even the final measure of his heart

Done aside his throat

A triumphant thump

Would push like a failing muse

And give no inspiration.

Anonymous asked: Dear Symptomatic, You and me live almost as far apart as it’s possible for two people in the continental U.S to live but thanks for allowing me to hang out near your wondrous harbor!

Well thank you, truly. I really should record myself reciting some poetry, that could prove a fruitful endeavor.
